Abstract
In this webinar, the heinous consequences Green Revolution (that uses
the Second World war's poisonous wastes as pesticides and chemical fertilizers
with non-indigenous seeds) have been shown by the panelists (Aparajita
Sengupta, Debal Majumdar, Tipu Mondal, Ankan Joardar, Nitai Mal, Goutam Majhi
and Debaprasad Bandyopadhyay). They also envisaged the "alternative"
(?) method of "traditional" farming (parampara cas) by theoretically and practically shunning off the
costly buzz word "organic farming" that subscribes Green Capitalism.
The panelists were suggesting an ecotopia-- they are advocating for partyless,
moneyless, self-reliant, local resource based, dialogue-based participatory and
green democracy in the context of facing the consequences of anthropogenic
glocal (global+local) heating.
